Dear prospective students,The Higher Technical Teachers’ Training College (HTTTC), Kumba of the University of Buea was created in 2014 by Presidential Decree No201/090 of 7th March 2014. The institution’s main objective is to train teachers to teach in technical colleges and high schools in Cameroon. The school is situated in the city of     Kumba, Meme Division in the South West Region of the Republic of    Cameroon. The institution has not yet moved to its permanent site. For this reason, the school administrative block is temporarily located at the former PWD Kumba  building in Buea Road. The pedagogic blocks are located at different campuses; Campus A is at the former Kumba I Council office at SONAC Street, Campus B is located at the Kumba City Banquet Hall, and Campus C is situated at the CPDM hall in Kumba town.Since its inception in 2014, the school has had three  Directors. The Pioneer Director, Professor Joyce B. Endeley served from March 2014 to August 2015. She laid a solid foundation for the training of technical school teachers. Her successor Prof. Agbor Michael Ntui occupied the position  between September 2015 and June 2017. During that period he did a lot that culminated in the graduation of 397 student teachers’ of the first batch of the second cycle on 2 June 2017. Prof. Agbor was replaced by myself, Prof. Akume   Daniel Akume.Recently with the support of the Vice-Chancellor we have introduced a few new reforms in the College. The two most important ones being the emphasis on practical training through memoranda signed with competent organizations and the introduction of Professional Bachelor, Master and Doctorate programs that begin this 2017/2018 academic year. Meanwhile, the HND/HPD is scheduled to start in 2018/2019 academic year. The college administration and staff have witnessed  inadequacy in the training of human resources of the purely technical field in both the industrial and tertiary sciences, particularly from the English subsystem. Besides, training in higher education, professional academic programmes should be enhanced. In order to close this gap and contribute to the vision of the President of our esteemed Country, President Paul Biya on the professionalization of Higher Education as the engine for an emergent Cameroon; the College Scientific Committee has designed an ambitious programme to provide quality training to Cameroonians and foreigners in diverse technical fields. We offer both application-oriented and teacher training study programmes for industrial and commercial disciplines.
